Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Maintenance Superintendant opening to join our Amana, IA Manufacturing organization.

Day to Day

Provide leadership and technical support to all 4 shifts of the plants maintenance team. Drive maintenance supervisors to determine root cause of equipment issues that arise during the course of the shift. Coordinate maintenance activities and schedule to ensure that all daily activities are performed safely and efficiently. Effectively communicate with all departments throughout Amana to drive plant yield and equipment uptime.

What You Will Do


Direct responsibilities for the oversight and development of four shift supervisors attending 117 craft and administrative personnel (Electrical Specialists, Mechanical Specialists, Refrigeration Technicians, Fork Truck Repair, Stockroom, Planning, and Scheduling)
Support cost improvement and capital improvement initiatives
Establish labor standards, equipment reliability improvement, and project prioritization
Support safety, quality, cost, and delivery improvement initiatives
Determine root cause of problems and implement corrective & preventive actions
Drive PM and PdM functions and optimization
Support TPM functions across the facility
Perform Lean Sigma project work, and implement Lean Manufacturing methodology throughout area of responsibility
Assist in the professional development of maintenance supervisor
Oversee the skilled trades training program to drive technical development of the maintenance skill trades.

Qualifications

What You Need to Succeed


Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred or equivalent experience.
5-8 years related leadership experience required, including experience in Lean Manufacturing Methods
Understanding and working knowledge of statistics and quality control measures and methods
PC proficiency utilizing MS Office and SAP-Plant Maintenance Module
Communication and support to 24-hour / day assembly processes
Ability t be on call as needed to support 4 shift maintenance operation
Proven leadership ability, excellent communicator, confidence inspirer, and self motivator
Leadership role within a union environment helpful
