The Sales Engineer is responsible to meet or exceed the sales bookings assigned by the Sales Manager or Senior Management for the allocated territory. The incumbent is the primary contact for all customer related technical assistance, product support and promotion of company products, services and general good will.

Accountabilities:

 

·        Promotes sales of new pumps, seals, seals systems, service and repair work as well as spares parts to existing and new customers by responding promptly to enquiries, analyzing customers' needs and identifying potential markets

·        Plan and execute calling program to ensure the appropriate level of service/call rate with customers is maintained to achieve set sales targets.

·        Develop new customers.

·        In conjunction with the CSOA, prepares quotations and tenders, selecting suitable pump product and ancillary equipment, and pricing them in line with Company policy.

·        Supports standard product sales through distributors, reporting on the performance of distributors, and identifying potential new distributors.

·        Works closely with Consultants, industry groups, and others to ensure Flowserve products are specified on Projects.

·        Negotiates orders and contracts in line with Company policies and administers contract as directed by the Regional Manager.

·        Achieve goals and sales targets set in conjunction with the

·        Prepares and transmits documentation relating to customers' orders and contracts correctly and promptly.

·        Pursues the collection of receivables from customers within the due time.

·        Provides technical advice to customers, both before and after sale.

·        Ensure profitability targets are achieved through the management of pricing and discount levels.

·        Implementation of strategies for individual customers and developing appropriate strategies for target customers to assist in growing the business.

·        Ascertain competitor activity and other relevant information to analyze and prepare strategic marketing plans.

·        Submit written sales reports and customer updates regularly as directed by the Sales Manager

·        Ensure OH&S requirements are maintained.

·        Provides technical advice to customers, both before and after sale.

·        Reports on customers' requirements and movements in the marketplace.

·        Co-operates with other members of the Sales Team and with all others in the Company, in achieving planned order intake.

·        Protects the Company from liability for damages in all negotiations with the customer and with vendors.

·        Maximizes the returns to the Company by ensuring that all extra charges allowable within the terms of a contract are claimed.

·        Represents the best interests of the Company at all times, maintaining a high standard in verbal and written communications and personal presentation, and taking care of Company property

 

Job Requirements

 

·        Meet or exceed budget bookings for allocated customers.

·        Maintain high level of customer satisfaction.

·        Assist in providing on time delivery by quoting achievable delivery periods.

·        To conduct training or product presentation to key customers as required.

·        Give timely and accurate advice and solutions to help customers resolve technical issues on-site.

·        Develop New Customer Base.

·        Trade or Engineering Qualifications preferred.

·        Minimum 5 years’ experience with rotating equipment.

·        5 years’ experience in selling to end users and OEM’s preferably in process industries.

·        Possess excellent communication skills.

·        Computer literate.

·        Conduct oneself in a professional and orderly manner.

·        Strong customer focus.

·        Team oriented and focused.

·        Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships within his/her immediate team and within the organization.

·        Ability to work independently and autonomously.

·        High level of technical expertise.

·        Good diagnostic and problem solving skills.
