Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Sourcing Manager - Advanced Sourcing opening to join our Global Strategic Sourcing organization.

Day to Day

Your role is to interact with the Advanced Development Team, understand their needs, identify technology vs. supply base gaps and work with commodity/quality to close the gap and be ready for technology introduction. You will lead a team of project managers who will coordinate the GSS activities of the Advanced Development GSS Domain Owners for all active Advanced Development Projects cross-Product Category and Globally. You would be providing inputs to develop long term (3~5 years) supplier roadmaps and facilitate supplier technology interaction for partnerships. Your other touch points would be with the product management team for smooth transition of the knowledge created in the development phase to the execution phase. In this role you will also represent GSS Innovation and will actively seek out and identify strategic supplier innovations and product roadmaps to achieve Whirlpool Product Leadership.

What You Will Do

Work with the Engineering and Technology team to support Advanced Development toll gate reviews and ensure sourcing deliverables are met.
Assist in the negotiation of development agreements with potential partners--work closely with process partners in Engineering &Technology, legal and commodity to obtain alignment on development agreement objectives.
Reporting and tracking of Advanced development projects
Work closely with commodity organization on long term supplier roadmap--3~5 years
Support key technology development and ensure that sourcing process is embedded
Lead your team to identify, develop and execute projects for their assigned category space, understanding the financial impact of the activity and the overall impact on Whirlpool financials
Develop and maintain systems related to supplier performance in addition to key relationships with internal customers (Supplier relationship management)
Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, delivery and analyze price proposals, financial reports and other information to determine competitive prices and viable suppliers
Actively engage in personal development as well as support / coach development of other team members to ensure overall team success

Qualifications
What You Need to Succeed



5 to 8 years of procurement/ Engineering experience

Bachelor's Degree in supply chain, procurement, engineering and/or related field.

Detail oriented but also able to see the "big picture"

Enjoys challenges/has an "analytical mind" - need to be willing to roll-up your sleeves and dig in to understand the drivers and problem solve

Proactive/driver of change - someone passionate about finding ways to improve and transform processes and communications

Team focused - enjoys working on teams cross-functionally and proactively looks for opportunities to help others

Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills

Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines
