Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Sourcing Manager opening to join our Global Strategic Sourcing organization.
Day to Day
Today, you might be leading the development & execution of a sourcing strategy. Tomorrow, you'll be interfacing with the IT leadership team and their key process partners on scope of work for critical project delivery and the following year planning. And, you might be meeting with Key Leaders like the Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Procurement to review key strategies and results of your category.
What You Will Do
The Sourcing Manager for Information Technology will develop, lead, implement and optimize the sourcing strategy for the Global Information Services (GIS) organization. The Sourcing Manager will work in partnership with GIS and process partners by deeply understanding the overall business needs and providing sourcing recommendations to deliver on annual goals.
The Sourcing Manager for Information Technology will:
Work with the business unit leaders to define their business requirements, develop the strategic sourcing strategy, negotiate deals, take ownership through the contracting process, define the SLA’s and determine requirements for ongoing supplier management
Apply specific IT category knowledge to sourcing strategies to oversee the development and sourcing of IT products and services such as hardware, software, and services. Provide flexible options to meet budget requirements
Lead cross-functional sourcing teams to obtain a result that provides the optimal balance of internal and external customer service support, highest product and/or service quality and value, with speed to market consideration
Lead Supplier Relationship Management initiatives to improve IT services relationships with key suppliers
Review spend analysis reports and provide potential sourcing opportunities.
Develop, manage and execute RFPs; meet with potential participants, both incumbents and non-incumbents, answer RFP related questions from vendors, analyze RFP results and help choose final vendor(s)
Build a best-in-class supply base; cultivate and manage relationships with best-in-class suppliers
Provide detailed cost analysis reports to leadership team and stakeholders.
What You Need to Succeed
The position requires strong business, financial, procurement, and customer service capabilities in order to facilitate and structure deals that protect Whirlpool's best interests and meet the needs of internal customers. The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, be highly organized, self-motivated, good listener, and solution-oriented problem-solver with the ability to handle a variety of tasks independently and efficiently. Additionally, this individual must be energetic, ethical, and desire a challenging work environment.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent work experience, MBA desirable.
Functional sourcing or procurement experience with 7 or more years focused on Information Technology for a large multi-national company.
Strong subject matter expertise in information technology services, software, hardware, network, and cloud computing.
Experience in drafting and negotiating contract terms for local, national and international agreements
Possess a detailed understanding of standard legal provisions, pricing strategies, minimum order requirements, and service level agreements
Ability to manage large complex projects including managing to a project timeline, acquiring and allocating resources, ensuring quality deliverables, effective communication and project risk management
Excellent organization, prioritization, project management, and problem solving skills
Strong negotiation skills
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and other colleagues and demonstrate initiative, mature judgment, great customer service orientation, and the ability to anticipate the needs of the organization
Demonstrated ability to lead by example effectively, influence teams, resolve conflict, and set direction
Ability to take direction, work independently, and perform detailed work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; handle multiple projects simultaneously; and ensure tasks are completed and deadlines are met as required
