Carry out day-to-day production of media to a standard that meets customers’ requirements using submitted protocols. Highlight problems promptly.
Follow all policies, processes and procedures relating to QMS, ensuring documentation is up to date and accessible.
Work closely with Media team and Work manager to ensure material is delivered as required.
Liaise with other staff in the Biomaterials team to ensure a high level of customer support and satisfaction is being maintained.
Develop technical knowledge and skills through experience of a wide range of production techniques.
Identify areas for improvements in efficiency and contribute to problem solving in consultation with other team members and the supervisor.
Contribute to safety performance by maintaining a clean and safe personal working environment.
Help in Lab Servicing and other areas of Biomaterials production team as necessary, including insect production.
Highlight all stock deficiencies of chemicals and consumables required for media production.
Skills & Experience:
Educated to A-level standard or equivalent experience in Biology.
Good understanding of laboratory techniques and Media production.
Sound understanding of the computer systems including Microsoft office.
Ability to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues.
Ability to demonstrate a track record of meeting customer demands in a service role within a scientific research environment.
An ability to work effectively in a team environment must be demonstrated.
Ability to demonstrate excellent Aseptic techniques
