For our Flowserve Flow Control Sales facility in Zaventem (Brussels) we are looking for motivated candidates for the vacancy of Inside Sales Engineer.


Job description

The Inside Sales Engineer provides support and guidance to Sales Engineers and Operations from first inception of a requisition to final negotiation. The major challenge of the position is the fact that this position is the interface between the sales and operational organization. This entails that an Inside Sales Engineer has to quote the best possible solution to our clients while respecting the internal interests and needs of Flowserve.



  • Work in accordance with procedures and instructions laid down by the company;

  • Fully prepare and deal with quotations in a timely manner of which the complexity can vary from "standard" products up to complex, project-based customized solutions;

  • Verify that received orders are in accordance with quotations made;

  • Produce and maintain accurate records of all activities in accordance with company report systems;

  • Liaise closely with the company‚Äôs sales organization, both internally and externally, to ensure the achievement of both sales and company objectives;

  • Take full advantage of the company's Sales Department promotional and training facilities, ensuring that the maximum benefit is obtained from these.


  • Bachelor's degree in process-technology or mechanical engineering;

  • Sound knowledge of valves and/or automation of valves in the process industry (advantage);

  • Commercial sense of prices, pricing and products;

  • Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing;

  • Ability to prioritize a variable workload and to ensure the proper and effective use of time;

  • Fluent in Dutch and French, both verbally and in writing;

  • Good knowledge of the English language;

  • Basic knowledge of the German language (advantage);

  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office;

  • Willingness to work as part of a team in meeting daily demands and unit objectives;

  • Flexible, self-motivated individual with a positive and pro-active approach and strong customer service ethic;

  • Previous working experience with a valve manufacturer/distributor is preferred.
