PL-SQL Programmer

Are you an Oracle PL/SQL programming technical specialist with strong online/highly available architectural Oracle database experience and the ability to create robust PL/SQL functions, procedures and packages in such environments, as well as to debug and improve existing PL/SQL modules?

Maersk Line are in the process of strengthening its development services organization with a focus on driving predictability, reduced cost of ownership across and lowering time to value of delivery 

Key Responsibilities 
The role will involve:
•Bringing a solid technical experience of a highly available and scalable database architecture used for real time data access and best practice PL/SQL programming principles in Oracle RDBMS
•Working with project stakeholders and solution architects to understand requirements and help define appropriate solutions
•Setting up PL/SQL triggers, packages etc. in accordance with the project needs
•Modifying and improving existing PL/SQL triggers, packages etc. in accordance with the project needs
The role will also involve working on enhancements to databases already in operation.
•Establishing standards and conventions for the use of PL/SQL programs and packages
•Ensuring quality of PL/SQL modules provided by vendors
•Optimising existing PL/SQL modules for optimal performance
•Contributing to the process of creating data models and database designs
•Working with Project Managers to identify and manage risks, issues and opportunities for the system/s, including the development of contingency plans.
•Ensuring accurate and timely resolution of problems, applying structured development and implementation techniques
•Delivery of online IT products and services
•Ensure customer satisfaction through delivery of a high level of service.
•Embrace emerging technologies and solutions in order to ensure our online experience continually evolves to address the needs of the market and our customers. ?
•Working closely with external and internal service providers and maintain consistent standards and quality assurance
 
Who we are looking for 
Experience:
•Previous experience of real time database based development using Oracle RDBMS
•Practical experience of developing and implementing robust and scalable PL/SQL modules ?
•Experience with overall system design, configuration, customization, integration, testing and support ?
•Experience with large Full Life Cycle project implementations
•Experience of setting, refining and implementing technical standards
•Experience within a customer focused environment
•Experience with all or some of the modern software engineering techniques e.g.
•Test-Driven Development (TDD)
•Continuous Integration (CI)
•Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) 
•Consumption and production of Application programming interfaces (API’s)
•Code validation and quality analysis

Skills:
•Excellent interpersonal skills and strong emotional intelligence
•Solid written and verbal communication skills and able to articulate the technically complex to be understood by both technical and non technical personnel
•Able to develop scalable solutions that can be utilized by current and future channels – e.g. mobile
•Ability to manage conflicting priorities and multiple tasks
•Stakeholder management and interpersonal skills at both a technical and non-technical level.
•Able to work in a collaborative environment
•Understanding the importance of real business engagement in all stages of IT product lifecycle working in both waterfall and agile delivery methodologies
•Good critical reasoning and problem solving skills – sticks to the problem until it is resolved
•Excellent attention to details
•Customer-orientated, whether responding to support queries or developing new functionality
