­We are looking for a talented analyst to join our Business Finance department and the team supporting the Maersk Line Trade and Marketing function.

Business Finance is a focal point in Maersk Line for management reporting, financial planning, financial analysis supporting decision making and for forecasting and budgeting.

With the aim of anchoring 'Finance' within the business we are organized and work in four dedicated teams each responsible for the different functions in our Maersk Line organization.

The Trade and Marketing function in Maersk Line is responsible for pricing and strategy. They develop the products and set the strategy and price to ensure that our vessels are full and are carrying the most profitable cargo.

As analyst in Business Finance, you will work together with a pool of highly skilled and talented people in an international environment, getting empowerment and great responsibilities as well as senior management exposure.

Key Responsibilities:


Our Business Finance team acts as the financial sparring partners to the Trade Managers who are Profit & Loss responsible for Maersk Line’s 42 Trades.  We support the decision making process by providing financial management information, deep dive analysis, performance management reporting and financial planning.

The role of the candidate is to work with the Trade Managers to understand their business information needs and to design and develop existing and new reports with clear insights. The financial management information must be supported by efficient and clear communication to stakeholders and decision makers.

Through close interaction with the Trade Managers, the candidate will perform deep dive analysis
of performance and trends and influence appropriate actions to ensure financial results and objectives are maximized.


Who we are looking for:


The ideal candidate holds a Master degree in Finance or Economics.  2-5 years of work experience from a similar position within Business Control, Performance Management, Business Development or equivalent (very strong new graduates with relevant student job experience may also be considered).

We expect you to have an 'analytic mindset' - being able to zoom in on the relevant details, while never losing sight of the big picture. You are an extroverted team player with strong communication skills, enabling you to engage and influence multiple stakeholders.  The corporate language is English, so you should be fluent in oral as well as written English. Finally, you should have a 'self-starter attitude' and be able to see opportunities and invite yourself to the table.
