The Service & Repair department Etten-Leur produces high quality engineered pump upgrades, pumps repairs and provides field service installations of Flowserve and non-Flowserve products for the oil & gas, power and nuclear markets.

The QC Engineer isresponsible for the content of the Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and projectquality plan according to customer’s and Flowserve’s specifications andinternational standards. Besides that, the QC Engineer is responsible fordefining, advising and controlling all project required QC documents. The QCEngineer reports directly to the Project Unit Lead.

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent;
  • The function requires 5 -7 years working experience in the industry in a similar position;
  • Knowledge of welding, NDE and quality systems;
  • Knowledge of the established quality standards, laws and regulations of national and international authorities;
  • Knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 9001, safety requirements and occupational health and safety legislation;
  • Fluently in the Dutch and English languages;
  • Good oral and written communication skills;
  • Able to communicate at all levels in the organization;
  • Ability to motivate people and to continuously improve the quality culture and awareness;
  • Actively participate in a straight-forward approach to resolving problems and encourage intra-team solutions to meet objectives;
  • Carry out a sense of energy, ownership and personal commitment to the work and the overall work environment;
  • Reliable in fulfilling obligations and consistently meets deadlines;
  • Determined, persuasive and quality minded;
  • Willingness to travel internationally.


  • Define and prepare a project quality plan according to established terms, conditions and requirements in cooperation with customers, suppliers and/or external authorities; 
  • Ensure that projects are correctly secured conform the QA/QC manuals and customer’s and Flowserve’s specifications and international standards;
  • Advice and assist the QA Engineer on internal and external audits according to the required procedures;
  • Advice all S&R departments in selecting suppliers and materials and in following up the proper procedures for the required projects;
  • Prepare the requirements for destructive and non-destructive tests such as mechanical tests, (e.g. Penetrant testing (PT), Ultra soon testing (UT)) and set up specifications and guidelines in order to monitor the quality of the outsourced work;  
  • Report results, discussions, conclusions and recommendations and communicate this with the organization, the customer and the external (nuclear) authorities;
  • Review and advice on supplier quotations, requests for quotation (RFQ’s) and customers’ orders for quality requirements;
  • Review and approve supplier’s manufacturing and testing documents/procedures and to take care for approval (when required) of these documents by the customer, his customer and the authorized inspection body;
  • Prepare and define test and inspection requirements for the required projects such as ITP and procurement specifications;
  • Review and verify internal and external qualifications of suppliers, welders, NDE personnel with regard to Non-Destructive Examinations (NDE), welding procedures and/or other applicable requirements.
