Key Responsibilities:

The Reefer Specialist assists clusters handling customer inquiries concerning Reefer usage and reason(s) for unsatisfactory cargo outturn(s) conducting root cause analyses and process improvement. Customers first and foremost use the account owner or customer service representative as their contact point but in case needed, the Reefer Specialist thereafter, in agreement with the mentioned colleagues, communicates directly with the customer and to the best of his/her ability solve the issues(s) raised. Claims prevention, but not Claims handling is an integral part of the function.

 Assist and guide colleagues and customers with regards to:

The right usage of a reefer be it stuffing, set points, special technologies, transport to the point of shipping etc.

Interpretation between a normal and deviating reefer function and the influence on the cargo outturn.

The difference between a planned and an abnormal reefer operation and the influence on the cargo outturn.

Interpretation of reefer data be it reefer data logs, customer recorders etc.

Non-standard commodity requests be it new commodities, longer transits etc.





We are looking for:

Soft Skills

Ability to apply knowledge of reefer unit performance to the transportation business

Proficient technical expertise and ability to translate ‘complex’ technical issues into layman’s terms

Reefer cargo care understanding

Customer focused

Teamwork minded and able to work with peers

Influencing without authority


5+ years of experience within the refrigerated industry

Bachelor’s Degree


Preferred Experience:

Reefer unit service engineering experience or equivalent

Understanding of and insight into reefer technology

Postharvest Perishable commodity knowledge

Teaching experience in either classroom or field settings
