Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a (Lead Warranty Analysis Engineer) opening to join our (Electronics Quality Warranty Analysis Lab) organization. This role is located in Plainfield, IN, just west of the Indianapolis International Airport. The overall role of the Lead Warranty Analysis Engineer is to work with and lead a team of electronics technicians to drive failure analysis activities to reduce warranty on current products in the field.
Day to Day
Today, you might be leading test activities for an electronic appliance control to identify root cause of field failures . Tomorrow, you'll be working with HW/SW design teams to implement corrective actions to reduce field failures. And, you might drive revisions in manufacturing testing of controls as a result of lessons learned from the warranty lab. You may also revise the failure analysis flow used in the lab to drive lean improvements.
What You Will Do
Ensure execution and support for part returns, analysis & testing for electronics & electro-mechanical parts/systems
Lead daily coordination with warranty analysis technicians and other cross-functional teams enabling root cause analysis and corrective action recommendations in the lab
Drive cross functional corrective actions based on results of failure analysis activities.
Lead training and development of lab staff
Drive the reduction of Electronics Service Incident Rate (failure rates) & Total Cost of Quality
Responsible for the reporting out of key metrics to leadership & drive quality improvements
Support/lead development of test processes & procedures, test equipment, ATE and interfaces with electronic control boards and electro-mechanical devices.
Support product design and manufacturing test groups by driving improvements in test coverage by leveraging lessons learned from lab failure analysis activities. Support potentially includes the development/improvement of troubleshooting guides and product training for various product support groups.
Lead continuous improvement to enhance part returns & analysis process, supplier onsite testing, key learning’s and best practices back to cross functional teams (Quality, Design, Service, Suppliers)
What You Need to Succeed
Experience with managing failure analysis activities for electronics, electro-mechanical parts & systems.
Ability to perform root cause analysis down to the component level is a mandatory
Systems Engineering, modular architecture, PFMEA/DFMEA, design for reliability, knowledge
Strong project management skills. Candidate must be organized, highly independent and self-directed with the ability to manage and drive change.
Proven structured problem solving experience with root cause analysis using 8D / Drill Deep & Wide
End to end product quality management
Must possess strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Must be able to lead, Influence & communicate cross functionally internally/externally as well as to all levels of origination
Demonstrate ability to work independently and within team environment
BSEE degree with 5+ years work experience in area of quality, labs, structured problem solving
SSGB or SSBB preferred
Hardware design and development background preferred
Mechanical experience is desirable
Experience implementing Lean and Six Sigma principles
