CNC Machinist - Grinding

This is a manufacturing position that will provide direct production responsibility  to support  cutting  tool grinding operations on CNC machinery.  Production performance is associated with cost, quality, and delivery, while meeting industrial health, safety, and environmental standards.

 

  1. Duties and Responsibilities:
    1. Primary responsibility is to provide direct production, primarily for operations in tool cutter grinding on CNC machinery. Knowledge of Numroto software would be a plus.
    2. Maintain PM (preventative maintenance) programs for the machinery
    3. Maintain manufacturing work standards.
    4. Actively support LEAN processes with a team approach through leadership and getting employees engaged
    5. Support process and equipment reliability and capability
    6. Maintain a safe working environment

    1. Manufacturing engineering department manager and department members
    2. Production supervision
    3. Production employees
    4. Quality Engineers

 

  1. Requirements:
    1. Knowledge of engineering principles and manufacturing practices
    2. Knowledge of cutting tool geometries
    3. Knowledge of CNC and other programming languages
    4. Knowledge of precision measuring equipment
    5. Strong math skills
    6. Blue print reading efficient

  1. Education Guidelines:

N/A

  1. Experience Guidelines:
    1. Manufacturing Expertise in  grinding and measurement systems – 5 years
    2. Experience in a precision metal processing environment
    3. Mechanically inclined

 

  1. Physical Requirements:

Must be capable of working on machinery independently and in a safe way

 

  1. Job Conditions and Hazards:

Some exposure to normal hazards associated with machines and manufacturing processes exists. Necessary safety equipment is required along with sound safety management.
