The ESN Devices Team is responsible for all aspects of the Reference Test Device within the ESN Programme. This includes the physical device, operating system, applications and required SIM cards.  The Devices Team will be a multi-site team, the open position is available immediately and will be based in Basingstoke with potential for UK travel
 
The ESN Devices Team will work collaboratively with the UK Home Office and EE to maintain and deliver the Reference Test Device

The Devices Technical Engineer is required to work within a multi-discipline, multi-site programme team with responsibility for the provisioning, configuring, management and testing of the Reference Test Device and Capability; management of the ESN SIM cards, loading, assessing and verifying  applications, supporting the associated solutions for SIM and Device management and assisting in the testing of the end to end solution
 
The role is primarily based out of our Basingstoke office during the Mobilisation phase of the ESN Programme and will require frequent travel to data centers in Rugby and Acton post service commencement. Moderate travel to customer, supplier and satellite locations in the UK will also be required.
 
The role holder will need to work with many different teams and organisations; ensuring the successful management of devices programme.  They will need to understand the interactions with the server based solution, assisting in the testing and debugging of any issues.
 

This role exists to ensure there is a Reference Test Device and SIM’s that can be used by the relevant teams for testing and assuring the ESN solution

Basic Requirements

Communications background in TETRA and LTE

The successful candidate will need to undergo UK security vetting for this position. This will involve:
-           Completion of a security clearance questionnaire by the candidate
-           Checking identity documents and employment/education/references/residency in the UK (a minimum of 5 years)
-           Checks against UK criminal and security records
-           A credit reference check;
-           If considered necessary, checks against the criminal and security records of relevant foreign countries.
