This role will be within our Airwave Test Services Team based in Rugby, UK.
You will be responsible for managing the Airwave TETRA Reference System and all Airwave test activities.

Job Description :
To scope, manage, plan and deliver test and acceptance activities for all products, solutions and enhancements.
To conduct testing against Airwave’s reference system and in the live environment at customer sites.
To execute testing, perform fault diagnostics and drive resolution.
To provide test and engineering support during deployment.
To manage customer relationships and expectations and ensure that customer acceptance is achieved smoothly and professionally.
To be responsible for the planning, scheduling and leading in coordination with suppliers and customers the implementation of the relevant test activities following the test governance process up to and including First Office Application.
To manage any operating budget allocated and track spend
Management of allocated test equipment budget for the relevant project
To work in a matrix management environment with the staff allocated for the test project
Planning and scheduling testing activities to align with delivery milestones and identification of risks
Work with test authority representatives and end users
Development of test strategy and approach
Test planning including scheduling, resources, configuration and equipment to support the activities required to deliver testing within time, cost and quality constraints
Adherence to Airwave’s test policies, processes and standards
O&M of test environments for which responsibility is held, ensuring all test equipment is ready for use and any defects are rectified
Ensure readiness for customer witnessed test events
Timely delivery of quality test documentation and reporting including test plans, test cases, test scripts and test reports
To have a thorough understanding of customer requirements and the test basis to ensure contractual obligations are satisfied and customer acceptance is achieved smoothly
Management, co-ordination and execution of test activities to a level of quality expected by the public safety community
Manage local test schedules
Accurately record test results and any observations ensuring actions are fully documented
Lead on the investigation and resolution of test related and technical issues in coordination with Airwave colleagues and external suppliers
Ensure testing is conducted in the most efficient manner without compromising on quality and timescales and identify areas for improvements
Attend/chair  technical/ test meetings both by conference and face-to-face with customers/suppliers at all levels, this includes TRRs and TRMs
Identify and escalate business/project/programme risks taking an proactive approach  to mitigation and reduction
Lead on handover to delivery and/or in-life support
The post holder is expected to be, or to become a subject matter expert in testing and one or more technical areas
Manage trials and pilots
Mentor other team members
Provide integration support
Scope, plan, document, manage and conduct live test activities with end users
Direct and co-ordinate virtual teams on-site and manage local test schedules Management of local test teams and matrix management of virtual teams
Technical project management of test schedules and activities
Represent Airwave/I&T at customer and supplier meetings

Basic Requirements :
Technical problem management and negotiation with suppliers and Customers
Management and co-ordination to resolution of test and network issues/faults in collaboration colleagues, customers and suppliers
Planning of test resources, personnel, equipment, configuration and Schedules
Accommodation of short notice requests and changes to planned Schedules
Weekly/Monthly/Annually. Complex projects can typically take this time to agree, plan and execute
Accountability / Responsibilities
Making decisions and take accountability for delivery of VV&T activities to facilitate customer acceptance.
Implementation of testing following network changes and judgement on level of regression testing required
Identification of any operational impact, decisions on time/resources versus cost and Airwave/customer risk
On site management of fault diagnostics with suppliers / customers, implementation and testing of any resolution and communication
Application of test governance and documentation for auditing purposes
Achieving acceptance as required by customers with differing technical /operational issues
ITSQB foundation
Excellent written and verbal skills
Have a level of commercial awareness to enable assessment of impacts on the scope of the testing specified / requested.
Building working relationships with suppliers and customers
Proven practical experience of engineering & customer testing in an telecommunications/IT environment
Proven practical experience of field testing mobile IP data and voice communications systems and fault diagnostics
Proven experience of building and establishing good working relationships with suppliers and customer to deliver solutions on large scale projects
Ability to make decisions and provide recommendations to senior management along with cost models to enable assessment of financial impacts
Must have the confidence to present to a large audience / senior management / customers
