Waypoint Homes is seeking an Investment Management Analyst. Working directly with Senior Management, this role participates in various aspects of underwriting, analyzing, and reporting on a portfolio of 30,000 residential assets. This position requires project management skills, the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely, effective participation within a group setting, and a general understanding of real estate. The Investment Management Analyst is a cross departmental role, and serves a critical function in strategic planning as it relate to new asset purchases, portfolio management, and divesture of existing assets.


Functions and Responsibilities: Include the following but not limited to, other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform in depth analysis on acquisitions, dispositions and portfolio management projects working to identify trends and outliers
  • Underwrite and review underwriting of potential acquisitions and dispositions
  • Evaluate current and potential markets for investment opportunities, including reporting on local industry and economic indicators
  • Prepare quarterly reports on investment performance
  • Create various ad-hoc investment analyses as requested

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Business or other related fields.
  • Real Estate and/or Property Management experience preferred.
  • Proficient using MS Office Suite specifically Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Able to organize, analyze and present spreadsheet data through pivot tables, graphs and lookup functions.
  • Working knowledge of financial modeling and valuation methods
  • Must be team-oriented and work well in a collaborative environment
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to work well in fast-paced environment under deadlines


Working Conditions:                            

  • Typical Office Environment – no unusual exposures
  • Computer, keyboard, telephone, fax machine, scanner and copier, etc.
  • Occasional overtime work required throughout the year.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
