Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Specialist opening to join our Supply Operations organization.
Day to Day
Today, you might be working with a supplier on a critical material availability issue. Tomorrow, you'll be analyzing supplier tooling capacity to support production demand. And, you might work with engineering & manufacturing on a product launch related issue. You may also provide updates to senior management on a supplier transition.
What You Will Do
Act as primary communication point with manufacturing and materials management
Maintain an understanding of supplier capacities/lead times, highlighting and resolving potential availability issues due to demand and/or supplier issues
Serve as escalation point for delivery issues – primary contact with supply base for issues, capacity constraints
Interface with global supply chain on critical and potentially critical availability issues.
Support supplier relocations / transitions (distressed & otherwise)
Manage expedite analysis and actions to reduce plant disruption & cost to Whirlpool
Work with commodity management to provide supplier performance information
Support on-boarding of new suppliers as required
Manage and execute supplier capacity tooling procurement activities
Support division initiatives and special projects as required
Support supplier caused cost recovery process and execution
Support supplier quality improvement initiatives as required
Manage farm-out PO’s
What You Need to Succeed
A minimum of 4 years of Procurement, Supply Chain, or Materials Management experience coupled with a bachelor’s degree (technical discipline preferred, but not required). Other Technical or Operations experience may be considered as well
Strong project and time management skills is a must
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple key activities
Ability to establish and build strong relationships with suppliers and process partners
Strong analytical and computer related skills, especially MS Excel and PowerPoint
Knowledge of basic manufacturing processes desired
