Role Purpose

  • Support the monthly S&OP process for chemicals, seeds and new businesses in the territory enabling balanced plans and visibility to drive business optimised decision making across the territory
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of S&OP capability (Process, People, System outputs and Structure) ensuring state-of-the art capabilities that meet the needs of Syngenta’s growing and broadening business
  • Act as the primary business owner and lead the process improvement of both the monthly forecasting processes and annual forecasting processes (SPP/Formulation) for the Territory
  • To lead the monthly Demand Review meetings of the unconstrained demand plans and provide challenge across the business to realise a consensus forecast
Accountabilities
  • Execute the monthly S&OP process, ensuring adherence to S&OP purpose & principles (to balance demand & supply, to ensure alignment of strategic & tactical plans balancing risk x cost x opportunity for optimized trade-off), time horizons (0-36 month calendar) and appropriateness of discussion (supply review, pre-SOP and SOP) across the business, as well as minutes and action taking
  • Promote trust & transparency between commercial & supply organization through the timely and appropriate communication and escalation of clearly presented supply & demand issues and analyses, thus enabling timely resolution of issues which could affect supply cost or service levels and decision-making
  • Ensure timely availability and accuracy of the S&OP pack
  • Contribute to the network of excellence across the geography in scope in order to promote best practices at all levels and accelerate improvement of standards. Reflect the best practice and new insights in the S&OP pack in a value-adding way and without unnecessarily expanding the volume
  • Challenge ways of working, identify waste (e.g. non-current KPI) and develop and implement relevant improvements e.g. in the shape of standardized reports, tools or KPI that will aid the S&OP community in translating data into insights and information
  • Drive, develop, implement and share innovative responses to changing market conditions, turning changes of commercial and market indicators into insights
  • Management of the Forecast and Sales Reporting Processes –
    • Monthly Forecast Development (CY + 1)
    • Annual Forecast Development (Year 2-5) (Formulation and Variety)

  • Management of Phase In and Phase Out product lines
    • To facilitate and support the range management process with commercial in line with regional and global guidance
    • Variance Reporting
    • Safety Stock Analysis
    • Ensure integration of demand planning into the overall Budget and Strategic Decision cycles as well as specific AI / Crop trigger points.
    • Deliver KPI’s for demand planning and track & measure performance against these, including action plans for improvement
