Role purpose:

Lead and co-ordinate the reliability improvement programme for the plant to deliver benefits in plant availability and maintenance cost reduction. Provide technical support to the plant engineering group to ensure HSE and plant availability targets are met.


• Develop and lead the reliability improvement programme for the plant.

• Analyse equipment failures including CMMS and plant availability data to identify improvement opportunities.

• Co-ordinate and where appropriate lead improvement teams within and across plants to deliver targeted benefits.

• Develop strategies for maintenance of designated specialist / packaged equipment

• Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams

• Provide input to projects as plant engineering representative and commissioning engineer as required. Specifically act as Project engineer for reliability improvement projects

• Understand and interpret the impact of legislation and ensure compliance by incorporating changes into site systems and processes (recent examples such as ATEX, PUWER, etc.)

• Develop competency as mechanical modifications assessor.

• Demonstrate delivery of cost reduction targets through equipment  reliability improvement

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

• Masters’ degree in mechanical engineering (minimum 2:1)

• Fluent written and verbal English
