About this job:
This role is the Direct Procurement Manager for the EAME region within the Global Sourcing team, reporting to the Head of Global Co-Formulants, Packaging, Tolling & Seeds Procurement. The successful candidate will be responsible for the EAME procurement categories: Co-Formulants, Tolling, Packaging and Seeds; aligning with the global leads for these categories.
Responsibilities include representing procurement in the EAME P&S Leadership teams and Supply Chain teams and continuously reviewing and developing the way Syngenta purchases the categories mentioned above.
The EAME Direct Procurement Manager will be expected to develop expertise in the international supply markets impacting the portfolios; ensuring security of supply and quality, and sustainable competitive prices. The person would be expected to lead and coach the teams to deliver on the savings, risk management, compliance and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) objectives.
Business partnering with a number of key functions.
Ensuring the team is capable of a fast response to market dynamics so that pricing arrangements are competitive.
Ensuring contribution to the savings commitment made as part of the Global Sourcing Strategy.
Maintaining a strong pipeline of projects in order to deliver in the short, medium and long-term.
Mobilizing the team to ensure best practice is shared and ‘copied’ as quickly and as effectively as possible.
Demonstrating compliance with procurement processes and ensuring compliance with purchasing policies and procedures.
Ensuring that all Procurement Business Partners regionally have SMART objectives and targets, Individual Development Plans and career plans and that succession plans are in place for all key roles.
Motivating the team so that they are ready, willing and able to achieve their targets.
Being an active and engaged member of the Regional Production & Supply Leadership Team.
Essential Knowledge& Experience:
Procurement experience in a senior direct procurement role
Capability in developing and implementing sourcing strategies
Excellent knowledge of purchasing procedures and processes, external trends and best practice
Leadership of complex sourcing projects
Excellent influencing and negotiation skills
Deep knowledge of the relevant supply markets
Development of strategic relationships with suppliers
Ability to influence peers and indirectly managed teams
Preferred Knowledge& Experience:
Strong personal drive
Strong leader, good interpersonal skills, analytical thinking
Results and quality orientated; able to drive change
Demonstrated ability to handle a number of complex procurement portfolios
A good communicator but also a good listener to identify genuine customer needs
European languages would be highly advantageous
University degree in a commercial/ business or technical subject or equivalent
MCIPS Advantageous but not necessary
