About This Job: To strategically and operationally manage a Co-Formulant portfolio (mainly surfactants, solvents, antifoams ) including regional and global suppliers; spend ~$30m.
To meet Year-on-Year allocated savings targets across the assigned portfolio
  • To co-create, define and drive selected global supplier and category strategies, in line with the Global Sourcing and Co-Formulant Sourcing Strategy
  • Be an active member of the global cross-functional sourcing team in place to manage Co-Formulants in the short and longer-term
  • To be an Ambassador of Syngenta, internally, but also externally when working with 3rd party Suppliers: ensure adherence to the Syngenta Direct Procurement policy and Syngenta Code of Conduct
  • Ensure all products and suppliers in scope are managed proactively to meet QOTIF supply at internal and external (toll manufacturing) sites.
  • By analysis of spend and detailed understanding of the supply market(s), develop and deliver regional or global sourcing strategies
  • Develop, support and, where appropriate, lead multifunctional projects with relevant stakeholders such as Formulation Development and Regulatory that are aligned with the sourcing strategies and hence deliver substantial savings and / or mitigate the supply risk
  • Develop and manage relationships with key suppliers including the leading of major negotiations
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant internal processes, including the Syngenta Code of Conduct, and external regulations (such as REACH)
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
  • Understanding of procurement best practice
  • A strong interest and aptitude to deliver best value for money and sourcing excellence
  • Understanding of supply chain operations
  • SAP: user knowledge for relevant ERP modules
  • Expected to have strong procurement experience
  • Proven project leadership (geographically dispersed and cross-functional)
  • Negotiations with suppliers at high levels including contracting
  • Proven commercial and/or technical experience, preferably in Procurement and/or the Chemical Industry, with demonstrated success

Preferred Knowledge & Experience:

  • Strong interest and aptitude to deliver best value for money and sourcing excellence
  • Able to influence strategically
  • Able to analyse data from a variety of sources
  • Strong project management skills, ability to handle multiple projects
  • Excellent analytical thinking ability 


  • University Degree or equivalent; chemistry degree preferred
  • Fluent in English
