As part of its expansion in Asia Pacific, Syngenta is building a new formulation plant in Singapore.  The role of Engineering and Maintenance Manager offers a rare opportunity to be part of a pioneering team bringing the company standards and ways of working to life in a new location.  The Engineering and Maintenance Manager will maintain all equipment and systems, including processes, warehouse and laboratory equipment.

You will be responsible for:
  • Successfully delivering defined compliance activities for a specified sector, ensuring absolute conformity with legislative requirements.
  • Developing and executing appropriate maintenance strategies that are fully aligned with product, site and production area strategies.
  • Developing budget and cost management systems for defined areas of maintenance. 
  • Maintaining first response support to specified sector, meeting the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and safety targets defined by plant operating and asset strategies.
  • Ensuring that capital projects use fit for purpose engineering solutions and meet Syngenta HSE requirements through close collaboration with technology, global engineering and other technical resources. 
  • Managing asset care and utilization; achieving optimum asset life-cycle cost and availability through the use of best practices and lean engineering.
  • Recruiting, training and maintaining the appropriate level of maintenance professionals on site.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a chemical process plant, packing industry (power, granule/ liquid chemicals)
  • Experience in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)/ Preventive Maintenance system
  • Experience in management, supervising subordinates / sub-contractors
  • Good knowledge of equipment and facility in chemical plant (mechanical,  electrical, automation, infrastructure)
  • Good knowledge of Health, Safety & Environment in chemical plant
